Puma Investments are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our Business Development team, covering the Yorkshire region.
Puma Investments raises funds from a variety of sources including wealth managers and IFAs from the very large including SJP, Barclays Wealth, Evelyn Partners, and Cazenove, through regional players to the very small independents, from execution-only brokers and from HNWs. We also work with leading wrap platforms including Fidelity, Aberdeen, M&G and Transact.
Working as part of the overall Business Development team, this role plays a crucial part in raising the profile of Puma Investments and its range of investment offers. The primary focus will be on developing existing and new relationships with UK Financial Advisers across Yorkshire.
This role is a Certified role under the FCA’s Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SM&CR). This means you will be subject to some regulatory background checks before you start in role and evidence of your qualifications will also be required where necessary.
Role Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the regional Internal BDM to provide ongoing support, assistance and exceptional customer service for our clients, both current and prospective
- Build and deliver the business plan for the region
- Responsible for promoting and fundraising for Puma Investments’ range of offerings, including VCT, EIS and IHT offers through proactive measures to increase fundraising through proactive measures including conducting face to face meetings, hosting training events such as workshops and seminars and executing any initiatives agreed with the Head of Business Development
- Work with the regional Internal BDM to handle incoming queries (in meetings, on phone calls or via email) from financial intermediaries, actioning as appropriate
- Attend and speak at roadshows and events, acting as an ambassador for Puma Investments
- Gather feedback via the adviser market to help develop new products and campaigns
- Work closely with the Client Relations, Operations (Client Onboarding and Fund Operations & Data), and Marketing teams to facilitate the best support possible for our primary clients

Experience Required:
- Demonstrable experience in a sales role, specifically focused on investment products
- Experience working with intermediaries, particularly IFAs, ideally in respect of tax-efficient products
- Excellent client relationship management and interpersonal skills, with the motivation and ability to deliver exceptional customer service
- High quality consultative sales skills and approach
- Ability to build and grow own bank of clients (advisers)
- Possess a drive and attitude to excel in a high-performing sales-based environment whilst maintaining high levels of client service and integrity demonstrated across the business
- Interest in self-development, continually looking for ways to improve and develop individually and the business
- An ability and appetite to learn a new product set
- Experience of using CRM systems, Excel and PowerPoint
