Business Development Manager

Business Development Manager – South or North Network

(Two roles available: South Network covering regions South of Sheffield; North Network covering regions North of Sheffield, including Scotland)


About the Roles

Location: Hybrid working (primarily home-based) with UK travel within your defined geographical region as required

Salary: £46,000 per annum + performance-related bonuses (Target bonus: 15%, up to 25%)

As a Business Development Manager, you’ll:

  • Be accountable for developing and converting opportunities in either our South Network (South of Sheffield) or North Network (North of Sheffield, including Scotland).
  • Drive sustainable growth across NHS, private, and partnership healthcare markets.
  • Ensure every opportunity is operationally feasible, financially viable, and aligns with our high standards of care.

Collaborating with Growth, Clinical, Service Delivery, and Finance & Operations teams, you’ll guide opportunities from initial engagement through to contract award and structured handover.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities across NHS, partner, and wider healthcare markets.
  • Develop and maintain a high-quality pipeline from prospecting to conversion.
  • Build trusted relationships with commissioners, partners, referrers, and key stakeholders.
  • Work with the Bid Coordinator to support tender preparation, bids, and proposals.
  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, and financial teams to assess commercial viability and operational deliverability.
  • Help position OneMedical Group as a credible, innovative, high-quality healthcare provider.

Requirements

We’re looking for someone who can:

  • Embody confidence to represent the organisation externally while driving commercial growth.
  • Have a strong track record in business development, account management, or partnerships.
  • Proven experience in winning new business, particularly in healthcare, NHS, public sector, or regulated services.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, relationship-building, and written communication skills.
  • Experience with tenders, proposals, or business cases development.
  • Exceptional commercial awareness and ability to assess opportunity value, fit, and risk.

Nice to haves:

  • Familiarity with NHS structures, procurement processes, or private healthcare sector dynamics.

Working Arrangements:

  • Full-time (40 hours/week)
  • Hybrid model with regular [geographical] travel based on your region’s needs.

Recruitment Process

    • Your business development experience.
    • Approaches to relationship management.
    • An example of a contract/partnership/contract you’ve helped secure.
  2. Initial Screening: Your application will be evaluated for relevance to the role.

  3. Interview Stages:

    • 2 interviews minimum, with the potential for a third dependent on progress.
