National Business Development Manager

Location: UK – National Role

Reference: ASPLIV

Our client, a leading organisation within the industrial power transmission sector, is recruiting an experienced Business Development Manager focused solely on new business generation across the UK.

This is a high-impact, hunter-style sales role, specialising in identifying, developing, and securing new opportunities in gearbox servicing, couplings, and industrial gear units. Qualified leads will be transitioned to the regional sales teams for further development and nurturing.

The role covers the full drive-train lifecycle, from motors, gearboxes, and couplings to ongoing servicing and maintenance solutions. A strong understanding of value-added and lifecycle selling is essential, with a focus on fostering long-term service relationships rather than one-off product sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive national new business growth across industrial gearbox servicing, couplings, and gear units.
  • Actively identify and develop leads in non-traditional and untapped markets.
  • Manage the full lead generation cycle, then hand qualified opportunities to regional sales teams.
  • Develop and execute marketing-led outreach strategies to support lead generation.
  • Collaborate with internal marketing teams to shape campaigns and commercial messaging.
  • Create case studies, support content development, and produce marketing collateral.
  • Represent the business at trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events as required.
  • Foster a strong external presence, including LinkedIn engagement and campaign activities.
  • Manage a self-contained diary with autonomy and accountability.
  • Engage with customers at all levels to understand application requirements and value drivers.
  • Promote a solution-led, consultative approach, prioritising lifecycle and service value.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
