My client is a well-established Foodservice business, renowned for their top-quality products and level of service across multiple sectors.
They are seeking a Business Development Manager to join their team. The candidate will drive new customer acquisition, expanding their presence within the independent hospitality sector, by:
- Expanding new business performance
- Coaching sales representatives
- Identifying growth opportunities
- Delivering against ambitious revenue and margin targets

Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of independent field sales representatives
- Drive new business acquisition within:
- Independent restaurants
- Cafés (note: corrected from cafÃs)
- Takeaways
- Pubs
- Hospitality venues
- Set and monitor sales targets, KPIs, and performance metrics
- Support the team in identifying and converting new business opportunities
- Conduct joint customer visits and provide on-the-ground coaching
- Develop regional sales strategies to increase market share
- Analyse sales performance, pipeline activity, and market trends
- Collaborate closely with senior leadership, procurement, and operations teams
- Onboard customers effectively and nurture long-term relationships

Ideal Candidate
Must have:
- Proven experience in:
- Foodservice wholesale
- FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods)
- Hospitality supply sales
- Experience managing or mentoring field-based sales teams
- A deep understanding of the independent hospitality sector
- Proved track record in winning new business and driving revenue growth
- Excellent:
- Leadership
- Coaching and motivational skills
- Commercial awareness
- Negotiation skills
- Ability to analyse sales performance and implement improvement strategies
- A full UK driving licence possession
