Overview As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving new business growth by selling HireRight’s background screening solutions to small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) across the ANZ region. This role is ideal for a commercially driven sales professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building relationships with growing organisations, and is passionate about helping clients improve their hiring processes. You will realise your sales targets through a defined territory, generate and qualify leads through networking, referrals, and digital channels (e.g. LinkedIn), and convert opportunities into long-term clients. You will work closely with local and international colleagues to deliver solutions that meet the unique needs of SME clients. Based in our Lake Macquarie, NSW office (ideally- however open to remote candidates), you will be part of a collaborative and energetic team focused on delivering real impact for our clients. As HireRight continues to expand in the APAC region, you’ll have strong opportunities for career growth and development. Responsibilities Identify and engage prospective SME clients and develop targeted outreach strategies Build and manage a strong pipeline through networking, referrals, and digital prospecting Own the full sales cycle from initial contact through to close Understand client hiring challenges and position tailored background screening solutions Develop and execute territory and account plans aligned with sales targets Contribute to team sales meetings and ensure timely follow-up on actions Lead responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs) where required Ensure pricing and proposals are competitive and aligned with client needs Partner with the Customer Onboarding team to ensure smooth implementation for new clients Qualifications Experience and skills required Proven track record in B2B sales, ideally selling solutions or services to HR, Risk/ Compliance, Operations, Procurement or decision makers within SMEs Experience engaging with small to mid-sized organisations, with the ability to adapt sales approaches to a variety of industries Strong ability to understand and document customer requirements (e.g. proposals, statements of work) Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce Demonstrated ability to manage a sales pipeline and consistently meet or exceed targets Ideally 3–6+ years of experience in business development or solution sales Additional information The successful candidate will be subject to background screening and additional selection criteria.
