Business Development Manager
Business Development Manager | Specialist Power Quality Solutions
Location & Compensation
England, UK (Field-Based, Flexible Location) £70,000 – £85,000 per annum + performance bonus + company car allowance
**The Company
Our client—a specialist provider of high-tech power quality solutions—is growing rapidly within the UK’s electrical infrastructure market. Based in the Midlands, they design, manufacture, install, and service cutting-edge technical solutions, including:
- Active Harmonic Filters
- Power Factor Correction (PFC) systems
- Continuous power quality monitoring equipment
Focusing on industrial, commercial, and infrastructure clients, the company plays a pivotal role in enhancing electrical reliability, efficiency, and compliance across complex power systems—supporting everything from utilities to renewable energy projects.
The environment encourages collaboration, initiative, and strong stakeholder relationships, offering team members direct influence over strategic business growth.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Growth
- Drive UK-wide sales expansion across electrical infrastructure and energy markets
- Uncover and nurture high-value opportunities in:
- Utilities, infrastructure projects
- Industrial sectors
- Renewable energy developments
Relationship & Market Engagement
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with:
- Contractors & panel builders
- Influential specifiers, consultants, branch networks, and end-users
- Orally influence technical specifications during project conceptualisation phases

Opportunity Management & Collaboration
- Monitor active and emerging UK project pipelines, sector investments, and market activity
- Position the company’s power quality technology portfolio (harmonic mitigation, PFC, power monitoring)
- Provide technical qualification and quote development to prospects
- Partner with internal sales and engineering teams to close deals
Experience & Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in:
- Business development or technical sales or account management
- Electricity/power systems, industrial equipment, or engineering sectors
- Strong grounding in three-phase electrical systems
- Proven track record in generating new business opportunities
- Experience collaborating with key stakeholders, including engineers, panel builders, and contractors
- Majorg skills in clear communication, negotiations, and relationship nurturing
- Valid UK driving licence (+ willingness to travel across the UK)
Desirable (Additional Plus Factors)
- Knowledge of power quality technologies, including:
- Harmonic mitigation systems
- Surge protection
- Active/Passive harmonic filters
- Established contacts within the UK’s electrical infrastructure or utility sectors
- Experience supporting:
- Main water utilities companies
- Renewable energy sectors
- Large-scale commercial or industrial clients
