About the role

Are you an experienced Business Development professional with a passion for building long-term client partnerships within the medical device industry?

Ensera Design is looking for a Business Development Manager to drive growth across our Design & Product Development business. This is an exciting opportunity to work with some of the world's most innovative medical device and life sciences organisations, helping bring cutting-edge products to market.

You'll lead consultative sales engagements, develop strategic relationships with senior stakeholders, and identify opportunities where our multidisciplinary engineering and design teams can add real value. Working closely with technical experts, project managers, marketing and the wider Ensera commercial team, you'll play a key role in shaping client solutions from initial engagement through to contract award.

This role will focus on the Medical Device sector, particularly Radiology, In-Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) and Surgical technologies.

About you

As one of our Sales team you will take a consultative approach to selling, working with both existing and new clients, alongside our expertise teams.

You will help our clients to understand the full range of innovative product design services & manufacturing capabilities that Ensera Design can offer, and you will build strong relationships that clients will turn to time and time again as they develop their product strategies. We are proud that we can support clients to ‘think differently’ about their approaches, whether through the use of new innovations, designing connected product ecosystems, or creating smart and sustainable product solutions. You’ll see that possibility and be able to communicate this to clients effectively.

You’ll be operating as part of a friendly, supportive and ambitious Sales team, all of whom have something unique to add, with frequent interactions with our Expertise teams. With that in mind, you’ll be a natural collaborator with a disciplined approach who is ready to focus on winning exciting work, while being commercially aware at all times.

You'll have experience of business development in a consultative environment, with both product and service design and have extensive knowledge of the Medical sector. Working with our teams, you’ll be able to produce professional proposals and be able to speak confidently externally to prospective clients about what we can help them deliver.

Your skills and experience

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Human Factors, Project Management and Marketing teams to develop compelling client proposals
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling services across the wider Ensera group
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, CRM records and pipeline reporting
  • Attend industry conferences, networking events and customer meetings to represent Ensera Design
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer needs to support business growth
  • Work closely with the Head of Sales to deliver agreed commercial objectives and revenue targets

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About us

Our Bristol office, a characterful Grade 2 listed stone building, was originally built as a sugar refinery around 1850. It’s now completely refitted, and houses all of our staff plus our workshops, labs, the design studio, an HF usability suite, as well as client meeting spaces. We are in a great central location: the local area is full of independent shops and it is only a short walk up to Park Street, or over to the Harbourside and St Nick’s Markets, both of which have regular street food markets.

We believe strongly in equality and fairness and try hard to do the right thing; we speak up for and support groups who are working to make a difference. Many of our team are also involved in, or run, events in their local communities, making a difference to those around them.

The team throughout the Ensera Design are intelligent, hard-working, fun and collaborate brilliantly together to produce creative solutions. We work with some of the biggest, best and most interesting international clients that you’ll find anywhere. We’re a multi-disciplinary team, with experts in research, innovation, human factors, digital UX, 2D and 3D product & packaging design, engineering, prototyping, manufacturing, and electronics & software, all uniquely integrated within one great company.

We consciously embrace diversity and proactively encourage this with our recruitment process. We welcome applications to this position from anyone meeting the skills criteria, from any background.
