Business Development Manager

Rowhill Grange Hotel & Utopia Spa, Top Dartford Road, Wilington, Dartford, Kent, DA2 7QH

Business Development Manager (Hotel/Events experience essential)

£40,000 per annum + £5,000 bonus earnings potential + monthly service charge payment + local business travel allowance

  • 4 weeks holiday rising to 5 weeks with service

Rowhill Grange Hotel & Utopia Spa, part of Alexander Hotels a private group of quality hotels of distinction just outside London.

4 Star, Award winning Utopia Spa, 38-bedroom hotel together with the Clockhouse banqueting suite and Pavilion conference venue all within the grounds of 15 acres of beautiful gardens.

Events cover a range of styles from conferences, corporate events, weddings, private dining, celebration dinners and party nights for the festive period. The Role

Join us in this new role of Business Development Manager with the key responsibility of proactively but not limited to securing MICE and Corporate business for the hotel. This will be achieved by using your previous hotel sales experience to identify new opportunities, generate leads and strategic partnerships locally.

Reporting to the General Manager, with close liaison with the hotel’s in house Sales Team and the group Sales and Marketing teams.

The key responsibilities include.

  • Measured contribution to the achievement of the hotel sales budget
  • Market and opportunity analysis resulting in targeted measurable actions
  • Lead generation and prospecting
  • Relationship management
  • Sales and Proposal Development
  • On going management of the Sales Pipeline
  • Collaboration with other departments (inhouse and group) to grow sales

You will be working with and supporting in house sales team as well as the groups national/international sales team, and marketing team to ensure sales success.

Your initial focus will be on the local area, and local business generation.

Part of your remit will also include attendance at local trade and networking events to create contacts/sales leads for local businesses. Setting up/hosting local business networking events at the hotel should also be a focus to secure the increase in local business sales required.

Requirements

  • Permanent role, 5 days, 40 hours per week. Flexible days based on activity required each week
  • Previous sales generation experience in a fast-paced hotel environment is essential to be considered
  • A driven sales professional with a proven track record in achieving and beating sales targets
  • You will have an established network of contacts and clients
  • Smart appearance and friendly telephone manner
  • Strong negotiation and organisation skills with strong strategic thinking and analytical abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in interaction with hotel teams and business clients
  • A confident self-starter able to be proactive and resilient to deliver results
  • Proficiency with CRM software and other sales tools
