At OT Sec, we are a specialised team focused exclusively on securing Operational Technology (OT) environments for complex, safety-critical industries. Founded by experienced OT security professionals, the company delivers practical, standards-aligned security solutions built on real operational expertise. Our work spans gas distribution, transmission, utilities, manufacturing, energy, and other industrial sectors where uptime, safety, and regulatory compliance are essential. We deeply understand the risks, constraints, and drivers in industrial environments and apply industry frameworks such as IEC 62443, NIST CSF, NIS/NIS2, G99, NCSC EP CAF, and TSA Pipeline standards. OT Sec offers candidates the opportunity to work with niche experts and shape OT security for critical infrastructure.
Role Description
The Business Development Manager role is a full-time, hybrid position based in Hampshire, UK, with flexibility for some work from home. The role focuses on identifying and developing new business opportunities in OT security across industrial sectors, building and nurturing relationships with key decision-makers, and managing the sales cycle from prospecting through to contract closure.

- Generating leads
- Conducting discovery meetings
- Preparing and delivering tailored proposals and presentations
- Coordinating with technical and delivery teams to align solutions with client needs
The Business Development Manager will maintain a strong understanding of OT and cyber security trends, contribute to go-to-market strategies, attend relevant industry events, and provide regular reporting and forecasting to leadership. This position requires a proactive, consultative approach to selling complex services in a highly specialised environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably within cybersecurity, OT, industrial automation, or critical infrastructure sectors.
- Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, relationship building, and consultative selling, with the ability to influence decision-makers at multiple levels.
- Ability to understand and articulate technical concepts related to OT security, control systems, and industry frameworks (e.g., IEC 62443, NIST CSF, NIS/NIS2).
- Competence in pipeline management, forecasting, and use of CRM tools to track opportunities, activities, and performance metrics.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, including the ability to prepare clear proposals and business cases.
- Self-directed work style with strong organisational and time-management skills suited to a hybrid environment.
- Experience working with or selling into sectors such as energy, utilities, manufacturing, or other industrial domains is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally internationally for client meetings and industry events.
