About us
PA Media Group is the UK’s leading provider of trusted news, information and data services. For more than 150 years, we’ve played a central role in the UK media ecosystem.
Today, we’re evolving.
As the communications landscape shifts, we are building a more integrated, commercially focused marketing communications division, bringing together specialist brands including Mediapoint, Hydrogen, and PA Media Assignments into one powerful, joined-up proposition.
About the opportunity
This is a brand-new role at the heart of that transformation.
As a Business Development Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving growth across our newly integrated PR & Marketing Services division, connecting our capabilities to create tailored, high-value solutions for clients.
This isn’t a traditional sales role.
You’ll spend the majority of your time with clients, building relationships, uncovering opportunities and shaping bespoke propositions, working across social, content, insight, data and technology.
You’ll be part of a centralised growth team, working alongside commercial and sales specialists, with the autonomy to identify, nurture and convert new business opportunities end-to-end, particularly where there is opportunity to bring multiple services together into a single, compelling solution.
What you’ll be doing
- Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities across target sectors
- Build and manage a strong pipeline, from initial outreach through to conversion
- Spend significant time meeting clients, networking and developing relationships
- Shape and sell integrated, multi-service solutions across Hydrogen, Mediapoint and PA Media Assignments
- Collaborate with internal specialists to create compelling, tailored proposals
- Lead on outbound campaigns, events and partnerships to generate demand
- Own your pipeline, using CRM tools and data to drive performance and forecasting
- Work closely with commercial and sales colleagues to maximise opportunities across the division

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
