With branches in Stoke-on-Trent & Wrexham, the company offers a broad product range including pipeline and fittings, steel, tools, rubber and plastics, PPE and workwear, fasteners, electrical, janitorial and maintenance, and pneumatic controls and instrumentation. FWB supports thousands of customers daily across infrastructure, construction, industrial, and public sectors, ensuring reliable, seamless supply chains. The company combines strong procurement expertise with technical product knowledge to source competitively and manage products to meet complex project requirements. Business Development Manager


FWB Products Ltd is looking for a commercially driven Business Development Manager to generate new business, develop existing customer relationships and expand our presence across South Staffordshire and Derby.

This is a predominantly field-based role, combining proactive new business development with structured visits to existing accounts. Regular attendance at our Stoke-on-Trent office will also be required for meetings, business reviews, sales planning and practical office support.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify, target and secure new B2B customers across the agreed territory.
  • Build and maintain a structured prospect pipeline.
  • Plan and complete regular visits to existing accounts.
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales, margin and customer spend.
  • Develop strong relationships with decision-makers, buyers and operational contacts.
  • Prepare quotations and commercial proposals with support from our internal sales, technical and purchasing teams.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, visit reports and follow-up actions.
  • Manage the territory efficiently through effective route planning and customer contact cycles.
  • Attend the Stoke office regularly for meetings, reviews and operational support.
  • Report on activity, pipeline, new accounts, turnover and gross profit against agreed KPIs.
  • Represent FWB professionally at customer meetings, supplier events and promotional activities.

About you

  • You will be a confident, self-motivated and commercially aware sales professional with:
  • A proven track record in B2B field sales, business development or account management.
  • Confidence in prospecting for new business and opening conversations with new organisations.
  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage a predominantly field-based diary.
  • A sound understanding of pricing, margin and profitable growth.
  • The ability to balance new business generation with the development of existing accounts.
  • A full, valid UK driving licence.

Experience within industrial supplies, engineering, construction or pipeline is desirable.
