Position Overview
As a Business Development Manager at VEV, you will play a critical role in accelerating the transition to sustainable transport.
Key Focus Areas:
- Identifying and securing new business opportunities with fleet operators, logistics providers, and commercial transport organisations across the UK and Europe.
- Driving revenue growth and strategic customer relationships to position VEV as a trusted partner in fleet electrification.
- Collaborating with internal teams (technical, delivery, operations, marketing) to develop tailored fleet electrification solutions.

- Navigate complex sales cycles

Role & Responsibilities
Business Growth & Opportunity Development
- Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities within the commercial fleet sector
- Drive leads from prospecting through to proposal development, negotiation, and contract close
Stakeholder Management & Networking
- Build and manage relationships with clients, partners, and key industry stakeholders
- Represent VEV at customer meetings, industry events, and networking opportunities
Solution Co-Creation & Delivery
- Tailor fleet electrification solutions based on customer operational needs alongside technical, operational, and marketing teams
- Present value propositions through demonstrations, proposals, and commercial pitches

Process & Pipeline Management
- Maintain accurate CRM records and revenue forecasting
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments in transport and EV infrastructure
Experience & Qualifications Required
Core Requirements
- Proven experience in B2B business development, sales, or commercial account growth
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing complex sales processes
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a self-motivated, proactive, and fast-paced environment
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable Experience
- Prior experience working with logistics, transport, van, truck, or bus fleet operators
- Knowledge of EV charging infrastructure, fleet electrification, energy, or mobility sectors
- Experience responding to RFPs (Requests for Proposal) or tender opportunities
- Collaboration between technical and operational teams
