Position Overview

As a Business Development Manager at VEV, you will play a critical role in accelerating the transition to sustainable transport.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Identifying and securing new business opportunities with fleet operators, logistics providers, and commercial transport organisations across the UK and Europe.
  • Driving revenue growth and strategic customer relationships to position VEV as a trusted partner in fleet electrification.
  • Collaborating with internal teams (technical, delivery, operations, marketing) to develop tailored fleet electrification solutions.

Role & Responsibilities

Business Growth & Opportunity Development

  • Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities within the commercial fleet sector
  • Drive leads from prospecting through to proposal development, negotiation, and contract close

Stakeholder Management & Networking

  • Build and manage relationships with clients, partners, and key industry stakeholders
  • Represent VEV at customer meetings, industry events, and networking opportunities

Solution Co-Creation & Delivery

  • Tailor fleet electrification solutions based on customer operational needs alongside technical, operational, and marketing teams
  • Present value propositions through demonstrations, proposals, and commercial pitches

Process & Pipeline Management

  • Maintain accurate CRM records and revenue forecasting
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments in transport and EV infrastructure

Experience & Qualifications Required

Core Requirements

  • Proven experience in B2B business development, sales, or commercial account growth
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing complex sales processes
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a self-motivated, proactive, and fast-paced environment
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable Experience

  • Prior experience working with logistics, transport, van, truck, or bus fleet operators
  • Knowledge of EV charging infrastructure, fleet electrification, energy, or mobility sectors
  • Experience responding to RFPs (Requests for Proposal) or tender opportunities
  • Collaboration between technical and operational teams
