Description

Business Development Manager – BUSINESSiQ

BUSINESSiQ is growing, and we need the right person to drive that growth.

This isn't a replacement role. It's a new position created because the commercial opportunity is there and we need someone to go after it. You'll own the commercial output of BUSINESSiQ across the magazine, the Impact campaign, and the Awards. One brand. Full ownership. No split priorities.

If you win new business by building real relationships, knowing your market, and staying in front of the right people, this is worth your time.

The role You'll be the dedicated commercial voice for BUSINESSiQ, working closely with the Business and Commercial Editor across all revenue activity. That means identifying opportunities, opening doors, and converting relationships into long-term partnerships with senior decision-makers across the North East. You'll be out on patch regularly. Meetings, events, networking. This isn't a desk role dressed up as field sales.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
