Business Development Manager – Electronics Manufacturing

About the Role

As Business Development Manager, you’ll drive new and existing business growth for Incap UK, supporting our mission to build on strengths and deliver sustainable expansion.

This customer-facing role requires a proactive, strategic approach to sales, relationship management, and market development, with a desirable (but not exclusive) sector focus on aerospace and defence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business development & sales strategies aligned to company growth objectives
  • Identify and secure new customers across:
    • Defence
    • Industrial
    • Medical
    • Energy
    • Communications
    • Emerging technologies
  • Build and manage a high-value sales pipeline, inclusive of long and complex sales cycles
  • Establish and nurture strong stakeholder relationships with senior decision-makers
  • Present, negotiate, and close commercial proposals, quotations, and agreements
  • Ensure profitable growth via pricing, margin management, and commercial awareness
  • Act as the primary commercial interface for new customers, guiding onboarding and early production phases
  • Collaborate with teams on Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to deliver tailored solutions
  • Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitors to identify growth opportunities
  • Refine value propositions and service offerings based on market demands
  • Represent Incap UK at customer meetings, industry events, and exhibitions
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, and pipeline reports
  • Drive continuous improvement in sales processes and customer engagement
  • Uphold company quality standards (ISO9001 and AS9100 where applicable)

About You

Essential

✅ Proven business development/sales experience in EMS or related industries ✅ Deep understanding of electronics manufacturing industry intricacies ✅ Outstanding ability to generate new business and manage complex sales cycles ✅ Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills ✅ Strong commercial awareness, with a focus on sustainable, profitable growth ✅ Capability to build cross-level relationships (staff → executives) ✅ self-motivated, results-driven, and proactive ✅ Strong multi-tasking skills to manage concurrent opportunities effectively

Desirable

🔹 Prior experience in defence, industrial, medical, energy, or communications sectors 🔹 In-depth knowledge of PCBA, box build, and electronic manufacturing processes 🔹 Familiarity with aerospace/defence standards (AS9100) 🔹 Technical/engineering background (degree or equivalent experience) 🔹 Experience with CRM systems and sales reporting tools 🔹 Awareness of global manufacturing/offshore supply chain models

📍 Location: UK-based (with travel requirements) ⏰ Hours: 39 hrs/week
