Business Development Manager
We're looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our growing Business Development & Marketing team at Cripps. Prior experience in a Senior Business Development within a law firm, accountancy practice or other partnership structure is essential.
This is a newly created growth hire, reflecting our continued investment in the firm and our ambitious growth strategy.
You'll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering business development activity across one of our strategic growth areas, working alongside partners and senior stakeholders to drive new opportunities and strengthen client relationships.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys thinking strategically whilst also rolling up their sleeves and making things happen. We're a collaborative, close-knit team, so we're looking for someone who is equally comfortable developing BD plans as they are delivering pitches, organising campaigns and supporting client initiatives.
What you'll be doing
As the day-to-day Business Development lead for your aligned sector or practice group, you'll:
- Develop and deliver business development plans aligned to the firm's strategic growth objectives.
- Partner closely with partners and senior stakeholders, providing commercial insight, guidance and constructive challenge.
- Lead high-quality pitches, proposals and presentations from initial strategy through to delivery.
- Plan and deliver targeted marketing campaigns, client events and business development initiatives alongside our Marketing team.
- Coordinate key client and referrer programmes to strengthen relationships and generate opportunities.
- Manage legal directory submissions and help showcase the firm's expertise.
- Analyse the effectiveness of BD activity, using insight and data to continuously improve future plans.
- Help drive the consistent use of BD tools and systems across the business.
- Support and coordinate Business Development Executive resource where appropriate.

About you
You'll be an experienced Business Development professional who understands how partnership businesses operate and knows how to influence senior stakeholders.
You'll bring:
- Experience within a law firm, accountancy firm or partnership-led professional services business.
- The ability to think both strategically and tactically—seeing the bigger picture whilst delivering excellent execution.
- Strong commercial awareness and the confidence to work with partners and senior leaders.
- Experience producing compelling pitches, proposals and client-facing materials.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A collaborative, proactive approach and a willingness to get involved wherever needed.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Location
Your base office will be Tunbridge Wells, however this role requires regular travel to our London and Horsham offices to support partners, colleagues and business development activity. We're therefore looking for someone who enjoys building relationships across the business and is happy working across multiple locations.
