Location: Spicerhaart, Colwyn House, Sheepen Place, Colchester, Essex, CO3 3LDSalary: £25,000 - £27,000 per annum (based on sales management experience) + 10% override on team’s commission (uncapped) Working hours: Rota pattern covering early and late shifts Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm and 11am to 8pm. 1 in 3 Saturdays with a day off in lieu the following week. Hear from some of our staff members by clicking on the following link: https://vimeo.com/949532366/29316ab109?share=copy Role Overview of a Business Development Manager: We are seeking a motivated and experienced Business Development Manager with strong management and sales progression experience to lead a team of up to 10 Personal Move Assistants at our Colchester Head Office. This role involves driving sales performance, developing people, managing team outputs, and ensuring excellent customer service. Main Duties and Responsibilities of a Business Development Manager: Achieve team KPI targets by securing new listing opportunities through proactive customer engagement. Enhance team performance through targeted training and development. Drive the sales process, ensuring business growth and client retention. Represent and promote Spicerhaart’s brand values and core beliefs. Ensure timely completion of administrative tasks for regional branches. Operate within company standards, policies, and systems. Build and maintain relationships with branch managers and regional teams. Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and return-to-work meetings. Deliver new starter inductions and act as a role model for the team. Key Skills and Experience of a Business Development Manager: Proven management experience, ideally within a sales‑driven environment. Demonstrated sales progression experience, with the ability to guide customers through the full journey and support team members in doing the same. Strong teamwork skills and the ability to create an enjoyable working environment. Exceptional customer service skills, consistently exceeding expectations. Results‑focused with a strong drive for business success. Commercially aware and compliant with company standards and procedures. Effective decision‑making and problem‑solving skills. Initiative and innovative thinking. Commitment to personal and professional development. Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships. Demonstrates role‑model behaviours with excellent attendance and timekeeping. Rewards for a Business Development Manager: Competitive basic salary between £25,000-£27,000 per annum.
