About Hipaws
Hipaws is a fast-growing UK-based pet brand focused on premium positioning, strong community engagement, and long-term brand equity. We operate primarily direct-to-consumer, with Amazon and our own website as key sales channels, while selectively expanding into wholesale and international markets.
We are a small but growing team and are looking for a Business Development Manager to lead our wholesale growth, develop strategic partnerships, and help expand Hipaws into new retail and commercial channels.
Role Overview
This is a role suited to someone who enjoys building commercial relationships and identifying new growth opportunities in an entrepreneurial environment. You will take ownership of developing Hipaws’ B2B strategy, acquiring new wholesale customers, and managing key commercial partnerships while working closely with the Founder on business growth priorities.
The role combines business development, account management, and commercial strategy. Over time, there is potential for this position to evolve into a Head of Business Development or Commercial Lead role as the business grows.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
- Identify, approach, and secure new retail, wholesale, and distribution partners across the UK and selected international markets.
- Develop and manage the B2B sales pipeline from prospecting through to onboarding.
- Generate new commercial opportunities through outbound outreach, networking, and referrals.
- Prepare proposals, quotations, and commercial agreements.
- Negotiate pricing and partnership terms.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
