Business Development Manager

This is a rare chance to drive BD strategy at a global level within one of the world's leading law firms.

As Business Development Manager for the Banking & Finance practice, you'll work directly with senior partners and a well-resourced international M&BD team, shaping how the practice grows, pitches, and builds its reputation across the UK and beyond. It's a role with real influence, genuine scope, and a team that knows how to deliver.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading BD strategy for the Banking & Loan Finance and Restructuring practices, working closely with senior partners and global colleagues
  • Owning key client relationships and identifying opportunities to deepen and expand them
  • Managing pitch responses, RFPs, and presentations end to end, including post-pitch reviews
  • Developing credentials, off-the-shelf materials, and pitch best-practice frameworks for global use
  • Delivering marketing campaigns and profile-raising programmes across the UK and international markets
  • Overseeing directory submissions and working with the PR and Knowledge teams on thought leadership and awards activity
  • Managing practice budgets and contributing to ROI reporting
  • Collaborating across a global M&BD network spanning Europe, the Americas, Asia, and South Africa

What we're looking for

  • Substantial BD experience, ideally within a legal or professional services environment
  • Previous exposure to banking, finance, or restructuring practices
  • A strong track record in client development, pitching, and targeting
  • Experience managing budgets and business planning processes
