Business Development Manager
Business Development Manager – IT, Managed Print & Document Management Solutions
Location: Stockton Salary: £40,000 plus commission Hours: 40 per week (office-based)
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our growing sales team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Identifying new business opportunities
- Developing long-term client relationships
- Selling a portfolio of IT services, telecommunications solutions, managed print services, and document management solutions across diverse sectors
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced B2B sales professional who thrives in relationship-building, new business generation, and delivering technology solutions that enhance business efficiency while reducing costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate new business opportunities through:
- Prospecting (telesales, door knocking)
- Networking, social media, and referrals
- Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline using CRM
- Identify customer challenges and recommend IT, telecommunications, and document management solutions
- Conduct client meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations
- Prepare:
- Quotations
- Proposals
- Tenders
- Negotiate contracts and successfully close sales opportunities
- Develop strong relationships with decision-makers, including:
- Managing Directors
- IT Managers
- Finance Directors
- Operations Managers
- Collaborate with technical and implementation teams for smooth project delivery
- Manage existing customer accounts, seeking opportunities for:
- Upselling
- Cross-selling
- Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reporting
- Stay updated on:
- Industry trends
- Competitor activity
- Emerging technologies

Essential Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in B2B technology sales
- Proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets
- Experience selling one or more of:
- IT Managed Services
- Telecommunications
- Managed Print Services
- Document Management Solutions
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong negotiation and closing abilities
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to business development
- Ability to build rapport with stakeholders at all levels
- Experience using CRM systems
- Full UK driving licence

- Knowledge of Microsoft cloud technologies
- Experience selling SaaS or subscription-based services
- Existing network of SME or corporate clients
- Understanding of cyber security solutions
- Experience selling business telecoms (VoIP, connectivity)
- Familiarity with document workflow and automation solutions
