Salary: £75,000–£85,000+ per annum Contract: Flexible (Full-Time or Part-Time)
An urban design practice is seeking a bright, personable, and experienced Business Development Manager to join their London headquarters, working closely with partners to drive new business opportunities.
About the Role
This is a hands-on role at the core of their operations, focusing on securing and winning new projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading business development and marketing strategies to identify, evaluate, and pursue new opportunities
- Coordinating tenders, competitions, and client proposals from inception to final delivery
- Managing client relationships and pipeline follow-ups to maximise conversions
- Ensuring high-quality proposals, content, and branding that position the practice effectively
- Supporting events, thought leadership, and market positioning, both in the UK and internationally

You’ll play a critical role in shaping how the practice wins work, blending strategy, execution, and hands-on delivery to grow their portfolio.
Requirements
- Proven experience in business development within the architecture or built environment sectors
- Strong track record in attracting and converting new business leads
- Familiarity with tendering processes, proposal development, and client relationship management
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to drive results
- Preferred: Experience in a fast-paced urban design or architecture environment
