Job Outline
The prime responsibility of the role is to drive business development activities for Automotive & Transportation customers within the assigned sales region in EMEA, in alignment with the Automotive & Transportation strategy defined by the Sales Manager Automotive & Transportation EMEA as well as the companies’ goals and objectives.
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for identifying, developing, and expanding new and existing Automotive & Transportation opportunities, with a strong focus on strategic customer engagement, design-in activity, and revenue growth. This role requires close collaboration with regional sales teams, technical resources, and key supplier partners to ensure consistent execution of the Automotive & Transportation business plan.
The position demands a hands-on, customer-facing commercial professional with strong market knowledge, capable of translating strategy into actionable plans, driving opportunity conversion through the design funnel, and accelerating market penetration across target accounts. The BDM will act as a market champion and subject-matter expert for Automotive & Transportation within his sales region. Primary metrics for success should be sales, profitability, and demand creation performance along with Future’s network share with the supplier and the regional market.

What the Role Involves
- Identify, qualify, and develop new Automotive & Transportation business opportunities within the assigned sales region in line with the agreed business plan.
- Drive design-in and demand creation activities by working closely with Field Sales, Inside Sales, and Technical teams.
- Execute the Automotive & Transportation sales strategy at a regional and account level.
- Actively manage key target accounts with structured penetration plans.
- Support regional sales teams through coaching, opportunity reviews, and joint customer visits.
- Develop strong working relationships with customers and automotive-focused suppliers.
- Ensure accurate CRM opportunity and project data management.
- Monitor regional sales performance and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide market, customer, and competitor feedback to management.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of automotive technologies and trends.
- Support marketing and demand creation initiatives.
- Additional project or duties as Management may require at times.
Requirements
- Ideally educated to degree level with proven experience in a business development or sales role within the electronics distribution industry; Automotive & Transportation experience preferred.
- Solid understanding of the Automotive & Transportation market, customer ecosystem, and competitive landscape within the assigned sales region.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders.
- Commercially astute and highly organized, with strong analytical capability and attention to detail.
- Customer-centric, demonstrating a consistent commitment to service excellence.
- Proven ability to operate effectively within a matrix organization, balancing multiple priorities and stakeholders.
