Hurst Stores & Interiors – delivering high-quality interior fit-out and refurbishment projects for over 50 years, with a focus on timely delivery and long-term client relationships. The company serves leading high street and retail brands.
About the Role
We are looking for a proactive Business Development Manager who can identify and pursue new business opportunities across the retail, leisure, education, and workspace sectors. This role focuses on:
- Generating and developing interior fit-out and refurbishment projects
- Building strong client relationships
- Driving commercial growth through initiative and insight
Responsibilities
- Research and qualify leads to expand the sales pipeline
- Build and maintain client relationships
- Prepare and deliver proposals and presentations
- Collaborate with internal teams to align offerings with client needs
- Negotiate commercial terms
- Track market trends
- Contribute to revenue forecasts and business planning
- Represent Hurst Stores & Interiors at client meetings, events, and site visits

Requirements
Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, or account management in:
- Construction
- Interiors
- Retail fit-out (or related sectors)
- Strong in prospecting, lead qualification, pipeline management, and deal closing
- Ability to establish and sustain long-term client relationships
- Expertise in negotiation and stakeholder management
- Solid commercial awareness including:
- Pricing
- Margins
- Contract terms
- Competitive positioning
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proposal and client presentation abilities
- Collaborative attitude when working with design, operations, and project delivery teams
- Excellent organisation and time-management skills for multitasking
- Familiarity with CRM systems and Microsoft 365 for reporting and tracking
- Knowledge of interior fit-out, refurbishment processes, or bespoke joinery (preferred)
