Business Development Manager (Bradford)

Hurst Stores & Interiors – delivering high-quality interior fit-out and refurbishment projects for over 50 years, with a focus on timely delivery and long-term client relationships. The company serves leading high street and retail brands.

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive Business Development Manager who can identify and pursue new business opportunities across the retail, leisure, education, and workspace sectors. This role focuses on:

  • Generating and developing interior fit-out and refurbishment projects
  • Building strong client relationships
  • Driving commercial growth through initiative and insight

Responsibilities

  • Research and qualify leads to expand the sales pipeline
  • Build and maintain client relationships
  • Prepare and deliver proposals and presentations
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align offerings with client needs
  • Negotiate commercial terms
  • Track market trends
  • Contribute to revenue forecasts and business planning
  • Represent Hurst Stores & Interiors at client meetings, events, and site visits

Requirements

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, or account management in:
    • Construction
    • Interiors
    • Retail fit-out (or related sectors)
  • Strong in prospecting, lead qualification, pipeline management, and deal closing
  • Ability to establish and sustain long-term client relationships
  • Expertise in negotiation and stakeholder management
  • Solid commercial awareness including:
    • Pricing
    • Margins
    • Contract terms
    • Competitive positioning
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proposal and client presentation abilities
  • Collaborative attitude when working with design, operations, and project delivery teams
  • Excellent organisation and time-management skills for multitasking
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and Microsoft 365 for reporting and tracking
  • Knowledge of interior fit-out, refurbishment processes, or bespoke joinery (preferred)
