Business Development Manager

Overview

Artex International are expanding their Business Development team, as a result of substantial recent success, and seek an ambitious individual to provide support to the Commercial Director. This role will primarily be the identification, development and assistance with new client and affinity solutions to support ambitious growth goals of the Artex international division.

How you'll make an impact

  • To develop business relationships with a variety of business prospects and intermediaries/producers and seek new and innovative ways of driving profitable growth
  • Identify new prospects, assessment of client needs and qualification of suitable potential clients from a variety of verticals
  • Understand potential prospective client business issues, needs and expectations and identify tailored solutions
  • Achieve personal sales-led targets, grow and manage own sales pipeline
  • Monitor the performance of your network and apply appropriate strategies to maintain a healthy prospect pipeline
  • Respond within agreed service levels and authoritatively to all enquiries, adopting a ‘right first time’ philosophy
  • Establish strong internal and external networks to ensure specific best in class service solutions
  • Lead by example by consistently delivering self-initiated new business to Artex
  • Raise awareness of the company in the market place
  • Conduct proactive research, account profiling and targeting
  • Attend meetings and collaborate with clients and client service teams to consultatively discuss appropriate solutions
  • Keep up to date on industry developments, trends etc.
  • Ensure that the CRM system is populated with current and relevant information
  • Project manage effective client file handover process to ensure client experiences seamless transition from prospect to client
  • Attend industry seminars, exhibitions, and conferences to stay current and knowledgeable

Business management responsibilities:

  • Adhere to Artex Policies and Procedures at all times
  • Undertake all activities in a professional and ethical manner
  • Attend and actively participate in internal meetings initiatives
  • Complete timesheets accurately and on time
  • Contribute to the overall positive working environment with impeccable conduct

About You

Personal attributes, knowledge and experience:

  • 5+ years in a consulting-led sales role gained in the commercial insurance industry (preferably in the alternative risk transfer / captive insurance space)
  • Technical insurance competency with an eagerness to continuously develop
  • Fully Qualified CIP and/or working towards ACII
  • Confident, ambitious, independent self-starter with a desire to succeed in a competitive market
  • Excellent consultative, business development and market awareness skills
  • Proven ability to source new business and achieve targeted results
  • Proven success in identifying client concerns / business needs and creating appropriate tailored solution(s)
  • Results focused individual with the ability to deliver challenging targets
  • Advanced MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills. Working knowledge of Salesforce is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of our core service capabilities and an excellent appreciation of, and proven ability in, negotiating and closing a sale
  • A team-player, able to work alongside and with other team members to progress or enhance our offering but at the same time able to be managed remotely
  • Ability to maintain clear lines of communication with various internal and external stakeholders
