Business Development Manager — Drive Growth in Construction Training & Skills Development
Are you an experienced sales professional with a strong background in construction training, funded provision, or skills development? TR2 Recruitment Ltd is seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to support employer growth and create new opportunities across our construction training provision. What You’ll Do
As a key player in our team, you will identify new business opportunities, foster lasting relationships with employers, and develop strategies to expand our sector presence. Your expertise will help shape the future of construction training and skills development, ensuring employers and learners benefit from innovative, tailored solutions.
Required Skills
- Proven success in sales within construction training, NVQs, apprenticeships, funded training, or related sectors
- Strong construction sector knowledge, with experience selling training courses or services
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to confidently identify opportunities, hit targets, and manage multiple stakeholders
- Self-motivated with a results-driven approach and a proactive attitude

Nice To Have Skills
- Experience working with sectors such as rail or engineering, demonstrating relevant knowledge and sales capability
- Familiarity with funding mechanisms, sector-specific regulations, or apprenticeship standards
- Experience utilizing CRM software and sales analytics tools
Preferred Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Construction Management, or related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years of successful business development experience in construction training, skills development, or similar fields

Other Requirements
- Willingness to work remotely and travel within Bedfordshire as needed for client meetings and industry events
- Relevant certifications in sales, training, or sector-specific qualifications are a plus
Role Details
- Salary: £40,000 - £45,000, depending on experience
- Performance-related bonus
- Location: Bedfordshire (remote working available)
- Contract: Full-time, permanent
- Working pattern: Predominantly remote with travel as required
