Business Development Manager (PBSA/BTR - Central and South)

Location: Remote (home/field-based covering Central and South regions including London, Birmingham, Bristol, and Cardiff

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: £35,000 DOE + car allowance + commission (OTE £70,000)

We are growing our presence in the Purpose Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) and Build to Rent (BTR) sectors and are looking for a commercially driven Business Development Manager in the West Midlands to help scale this area of the business.

This role will cover Central and South including London, Birmingham, Bristol, and Cardiff. You will ideally be based in the West Midlands, providing central driving access to England and Wales and a manageable monthly drive to Sheffield HQ.

UniHomes is the UK’s go-to student accommodation marketplace, supporting millions of students’ searches every year and delivering high-quality enquiries to accommodation providers nationwide. As demand for varying formats of accommodation continues to rise, we are working with a wider range of PBSA and BTR operators to help renters find their perfect home and the operators improve their visibility and fill rooms.

In this role, you will take ownership of developing new PBSA and BTR partnerships, working primarily with individual buildings and smaller portfolios. You will identify opportunities, win new partners, and manage relationships end to end through onboarding, performance, and renewal.

You’ll act as a trusted commercial contact throughout the advertising term, ensuring partners see ongoing value from UniHomes. Where appropriate, you’ll also support partners as they explore more strategic ways of working with us as their portfolios grow.

This is a field-based role with a high level of autonomy, offering the chance to make a tangible impact in a growing segment of the business, alongside strong earning potential through uncapped commission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own new business development across PBSA and BTR operators, targeting individual buildings and smaller portfolios.
  • Proactively research, prospect, and win new operator partnerships through outbound B2B activity.
  • Present and sell the UniHomes advertising and lead-generation proposition, demonstrating value, reach, and measurable performance.
  • Manage the full commercial sales cycle from first outreach through to close.
  • Onboard new partners and own the account end-to-end through performance and renewal.
  • Act as the trusted commercial point of contact, using performance insight to lead renewals and grow accounts over time.
  • Keep CRM records, pipeline activity, and forecasting accurate and up to date.
  • Spend significant time in the field across your territory and represent UniHomes at relevant industry events.
  • Stay close to PBSA and BTR market trends, student demand, and competitor activity.
  • Attend monthly meetings at our Sheffield HQ, with occasional overnight stays when required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
