Built In Talent is partnering with a growing digital consultancy to appoint a Business Development Manager focused on expanding existing relationships and winning new business across UK Central Government.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established consultancy with ambitious growth plans, a strong delivery capability and an impressive track record supporting government organisations with digital transformation, cloud, data and technology-led change programmes.
The Role
You'll be responsible for identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities across Central Government, building long-term relationships and driving sustainable revenue growth. Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities across Central Government.
- Building and maintaining relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Developing account growth and pursuit strategies.
- Creating and managing a healthy sales pipeline.
- Working closely with delivery, practice and product teams to shape client solutions.
- Leading client engagement activities, networking and industry events.
- Supporting bids, proposals and framework opportunities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
