Role Description

The Business Development Manager – Commercial Finance is a full-time, on-site role based in Solihull. This position involves identifying and developing new business opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with business owners, finance directors, and intermediaries, and promoting Bayside Advisory Ltd’s commercial finance solutions.

  • Prospecting and qualifying leads
  • Conducting client meetings
  • Understanding funding requirements
  • Preparing proposals that align with client needs and market conditions

The role also includes:

  • Managing a pipeline of opportunities
  • Negotiating terms with lenders and partners
  • Tracking performance against targets
  • Providing regular reporting to senior leadership

Collaboration with internal colleagues to refine service offerings, contribute to marketing initiatives, and ensure high-quality client service is an important part of this role.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, or relationship management within commercial finance or a related financial services environment.
  • Strong understanding of commercial lending products, cash flow finance, asset-based lending, and other business funding solutions.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with clients, lenders, and intermediaries, with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in managing a sales pipeline, using CRM tools, and working to defined performance targets and deadlines.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to interpret financial information and structure appropriate funding solutions.
  • High level of integrity, professional conduct, and commitment to delivering responsive, client-focused service.
  • Comfort working on-site in Solihull and the wider Midlands area, collaborating with colleagues and engaging regularly in face-to-face client meetings.
  • Beneficial qualifications include a degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field, and relevant professional certifications or training in commercial finance or credit.
