Help Shape the Future of Commercial Growth Across EMEAI

Oxford Instruments is looking for a highly collaborative and commercially-minded Business Development Manager to play a pivotal role in connecting our Business Units, Product Lines and Regional Commercial teams across EMEAI.

This is a highly visible position at the centre of our commercial strategy, ensuring that products, software solutions and services, market opportunities, customer insights and regional execution come together to drive sustainable growth.

You'll act as the link between strategy and execution—bringing together Sales, Service, Marketing, Product Management and Commercial Leadership to ensure we launch the right offerings, deliver compelling customer value propositions, and equip our teams for success.

If you enjoy turning market intelligence into action, influencing across functions, and driving complex initiatives in a global matrix environment, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

As a key member of the EMEAI Commercial Strategy team, you will:

  • Drive the commercialisation of new products, software solutions and service offerings across the region, ensuring successful launch planning and execution.
  • Gather and consolidate Voice of Customer (VoC) insights from across EMEAI and translate them into meaningful recommendations for Product Lines and Business Units.
  • Act as the strategic bridge between the region and global Product Management teams, helping ensure innovation roadmaps align with customer and market needs.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across Sales, Service, Marketing, Applications and Product Management to deliver commercial objectives.
  • Analyse market trends, competitive activity and pricing dynamics to identify growth opportunities and inform strategic direction.
  • Lead and facilitate quarterly business reviews and product line engagement forums.
  • Develop compelling value propositions and go-to-market strategies for products, software and services.
  • Support sales enablement through training, tools, messaging, and commercial assets that improve customer engagement and win rates.
  • Track commercialisation performance, adoption and growth initiatives, ensuring progress is visible and momentum is maintained.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders to deepen understanding of market challenges, emerging applications and future opportunities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why This Role Is Different

This is not a traditional sales role focused on prospecting or individual targets.

Instead, you will be responsible for ensuring the entire commercial ecosystem works effectively together. You will help answer critical business questions such as:

  • Are we developing the right innovations for our customers?
  • How should we position and commercialise new products, software solutions and services?
  • What are competitors doing and how should we respond?
  • How do we best equip Sales and Service teams to succeed?
  • What customer insights should influence future product and service development?

You will have the opportunity to influence strategy, shape regional growth priorities and make a measurable impact across multiple product lines, service portfolios and markets.

What We Offer

At Oxford Instruments, you'll join a business where science and technology are transforming the world around us. You'll work alongside talented colleagues across a global organisation, helping bring innovative products, software capabilities and service solutions to market while driving commercial success across EMEAI.
