About the Role
We're looking for a commercially minded and consultative Business Development Manager to join our Commercial team.
In this role, you'll help organisations develop their people through leadership, management and professional qualifications, with a particular focus on CMI programmes and bespoke training solutions. Taking a consultative approach, you'll build strong client relationships, carry out training needs analysis to understand organisational goals and skills gaps, and recommend tailored learning solutions that deliver real business impact.

Working closely with our Sales, Marketing and Delivery teams, you'll play a key role in growing our commercial training provision and creating long-term partnerships with clients across a range of sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate new business opportunities and develop long-term client relationships.
- Conduct training needs analysis to identify organisational and workforce development requirements.
- Recommend tailored learning solutions, including CMI qualifications, leadership programmes and bespoke training.
- Prepare and present commercial proposals aligned to client objectives.
- Promote our commercial training portfolio and demonstrate the value of our learning solutions.
- Manage your sales pipeline and CRM to ensure opportunities are progressed effectively.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to deliver an outstanding client experience.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Experience in business development, consultative sales or account management.
- Experience selling commercial training, professional qualifications or learning and development solutions.
- Strong relationship-building, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to identify client needs and develop tailored training solutions.
- A proactive, organised and commercially focused approach.
Desirable
- Experience selling CMI qualifications or leadership and management development programmes.
- Experience within the learning, education or training sector.
- Knowledge of apprenticeships or wider workforce development solutions.
