Business Development Manager
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday Location: Hybrid (office base in Leek with travel required to neighbouring boroughs) Contract: 2 Year Fixed Term Salary: £44,083 (pay award pending)

Alliance Environmental Services (AES) is seeking an ambitious and driven Business Development Manager to help accelerate the commercial growth of our environmental services.

You’ll play a pivotal role in expanding our customer base, fostering partnerships, and driving sustainable revenue growth across waste management, grounds maintenance, and specialist services.
About the Role
As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities, building relationships, and delivering a pipeline of high-value commercial contracts that aligned and differentiated your specialist environmental solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Driving Business Growth
- Develop and deliver strategic plans to achieve short- and long-term growth targets
- Identify new markets, customer segments, and revenue opportunities
- Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and performance data to guide decision-making

Winning and Growing Business
- Identify, engage, and secure high-value commercial contracts
- Lead negotiations and establish pricing frameworks and long-term partnerships
- Increase revenue via upsell and cross-sell initiatives
Building Relationships
- Lead and develop a small, high-performing commercial team
- Build trusted relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders
- Represent AES at networking events and industry conferences
Working Collaboratively
- Partner with the marketing team to design campaigns, target high-value leads, and refine messaging
- Collaborate closely with operations to ensure seamless onboarding and service delivery
- Provide clear sales forecasts and pipeline updates to senior leadership
Measuring Success
- Track performance against KPIs and revenue targets
- Produce insightful reports on pipeline health, customer conversions, and market trends
- Continuously refine strategies based on data-driven insights and stakeholder feedback
Requirements
Essential
- Proven success in business development, sales, or commercial roles
- Experience securing medium to high-value contracts
- Strong negotiation skills and sharp commercial acumen
- Track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets
- Confident communicator who contributes effectively in a fast-paced environment

Desirable
- Experience within waste, environmental, or facilities management sectors
- Strong industry network and deep understanding of relevant markets
- Knowledge of waste legislation and environmental compliance
- Experience developing sales strategies or market entry plans
