Business Development Manager – Digital Enterprise Solutions (DES) & Systems
About The Role
We are looking for a highly driven Business Development Manager to join our UK commercial team and focus exclusively on new business acquisition across Digital Enterprise Solutions (DES) and Systems.
Following a recent sales transformation, our organization has separated account management from new business development. This role sits firmly in the business development team, with full ownership of winning new logos, building pipeline, and driving growth outside of existing accounts.
This is a true hunter role—ideal for someone who thrives on opening doors, creating opportunities, and converting them into revenue.
Your Mission
Generate new business opportunities across industrial customers Build and manage a strong sales pipeline from scratch Win new logos and expand Yokogawa’s footprint in the UK Drive growth across Digital Enterprise Solutions (70%) and Systems (30%)
What You’ll Be Doing
New Business Development
Identify, target, and win new customers across industrial sectors Develop and execute a structured business development plan Proactively prospect through outreach, networking, and events
Customer Engagement & Sales Execution
Engage senior stakeholders and decision-makers Lead discovery conversations to uncover customer challenges Translate technical solutions into clear business value Manage opportunities through the full sales cycle to close
Pipeline & Opportunity Management
Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities Use Yokogawa’s sales methodology to progress deals Maintain accurate CRM data and forecasting
Market Development
Represent Yokogawa at industry events and trade shows Build a strong network within your territory Identify emerging opportunities in digitalization and industrial systems
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with technical, service, and delivery teams Act as the voice of the customer internally

Consistently opening doors at new industrial customers Building a strong, self-generated pipeline Converting opportunities into revenue Delivering against ambitious new business targets
What We’re Looking For
Must-Have Experience
Proven track record in new business / hunter sales roles Experience selling software, industrial solutions, or technical systems Strong prospecting and pipeline generation capability Ability to lead consultative, value-based sales conversations
Nice to Have
Experience with DCS, safety systems, or industrial automation Background in industrial software or systems sales Exposure to digital transformation solutions in industry
Who You Are
A self-starter who takes ownership and drives results An energetic hunter who enjoys winning new business Resilient and persistent, especially in complex sales cycles Commercially sharp with strong business acumen Comfortable operating in a technical, industrial environment
Location
Based in the UK (England preferred)
What We Offer
We provide a professional and supportive working environment based on a 37.5-hour working week.
Your Package Includes
28 days of paid annual leave (inclusive of public holidays) A 6-month probation period Notice period of 1–3 months depending on service Cycle to Work scheme (up to £2,500) Car salary sacrifice scheme Employer-paid healthcare via Westfield Health Life Assurance (6x basic annual salary) Group Income Protection Pension scheme with Royal London, with employer contributions between 8% and 12.5% after probation
