Business Development Manager - Digital OR

Business Development Manager / Country Manager (UK) – AI-Powered Operating Room Coordination Platform

As a Business Development Manager / Country Manager for a specialist digital health company, you'll be the first commercial hire in the UK, bringing an AI-powered operating room coordination platform already delivering measurable improvements in surgical efficiency across European hospitals to the NHS.

  • Manage the full medical sales cycle, from prospecting to close.
  • Target NHS and private hospitals, focusing on operating theatre and perioperative stakeholders.
  • Hunter role with no direct reports initially—build the UK business from scratch.
  • Leverage an AI-driven platform already proving success in surgical efficiency, theatre utilisation, and patient flow across Europe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Win new clients in the UK’s surgical market.
  • Place the company on relevant NHS procurement frameworks.
  • Provide UK market intelligence to product and leadership for long-term growth.
  • Regular travel to hospitals, trade shows, and industry events.
  • Work remotely from home, with travel andAttendance at in-person events.

About the Company

Requirements

  • Proven success in medical sales within surgical or perioperative space—specific requirement. Prior knowledge of operating room workflows and clinical environments is essential.
  • Experience in digital health outside of perioperative may not suffice.
  • Three to five years of full medical sales cycle ownership for a surgical product solution.
  • Strong NHS relationships and ability to handle complex multi-stakeholder deals from initial meeting to signature.
  • Highly self-motivated, comfortable building a market without local support.
  • Ideal experience includes:
    • Business Development Manager / Market Development Manager roles.
    • Owned and grown a surgical market.
    • Managed the full sales process (prospecting to close).
  • Based in England, with a full UK driving licence and right to work.
  • Suitable locations include: London, Oxford, Bristol, Birmingham, Derby, Nottingham, Leicester, Cambridge, Sheffield, Leeds, Manchester, and Liverpool.

Package

  • Salary: Base up to £65,000, with uncapped OTE raising earnings to £100,000+.
  • Additional benefits:
