Business Development Manager - East Anglia
Business Development Manager – Regional Sales (East Anglia)
Location: East Anglia region | Contract: Permanent
About the Role
This is a field sales-based role within the fast-growing BauWatch UK sales team, seeking a Business Development Manager to focus on regional sales in Eastern England. You will be responsible for managing and growing both new and existing business within your allocated geography—primarily East Anglia, while working closely with the central sales team.
Key objectives include:
- Identifying and closing high-value contracts to maximise market and sector penetration within the construction sector and related industries.
- Prospecting at office and site level, including built infrastructure and non-building assets.
- Supporting peers during illness, holidays, or peak demands through collaborative regional teamwork (e.g. covering territories).
Critical to the role is delivering BauWatch’s brand promise of outstanding customer satisfaction and service, ensuring all interactions reflect our commitment to excellence. Prospective candidates must be protective of the positive brand image we hold—dutiful and trusted as ambassadors in a fast-paced field environment.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Growth & Penetration
- Prepare and deliver customer/market-based business plans aligned with revenue growth targets for East Anglia.
- Take full commercial and accountability for generating £X–£Y OPM revenue (depending on region).
Sales Execution & Territory Management
- Identify, negotiate, and close deals within construction, infrastructure, civil engineering, and asset protection sectors.
- Maintain prospect lists and databases, cold calling (in-market and across client segments), and cold email outreach to targets.
- Convert leads into new sales via site visits, customer demonstrations, and competitive positioning (e.g. partnering with existing or emerging cues).
Collaborative Accountability
- Provide and receive assistance when bandwidth shifts occur (e.g. supporting when a colleague is unavailable).
- Work jointly with other offices to explore rationalised bulk opportunities, cross-handling leads, and sharing best practices.
Meeting Standards & Growth Objectives
- Embed BauWatch’s brand, values, and mission statement into every sales interaction.
- Champion the value proposition with a market-leading focus, building credibility in your industry segment.
- All actions must comply with company policies, including health & safety (H&S) and strict use of PPE during enforcement.

About You
This opportunity is ideally suited for junior sales professionals currently in internal/desk-based fields, seeking to transition into field sales with the added benefit of a targeted regional focus.
Skills & Experience
- Target-driven: Competitive mindset to achieve personal and team-wide sales targets in a collaborative environment.
- Proactive resilience: Ability to manage pipelines from initial outreach to client conversion, even through challenges.
- Technological proficiency:
- CRM-enabled sales tools (e.g., Salesforce, similar platforms—prior experience preferred).
- Core MS Office applications and cloud solutions (Exposure, Teams, Zoom for client interactions).
- Quality-focused: Drive consistency of service excellence and wield quality as a compelling competitive advantage.
- Solution-oriented: Create efficient, cost-effective service proposals tailored to client requirements.
- Team player: Cultivate trust and resource-sharing within the regional and central teams.
- Independent: Capacity to work autonomously when targets are defined; problem-solving with minimal oversight.
- Customer-friendly: Tailor service protocols to clients while prioritising their satisfaction as paramount.
