About the Role
We are seeking an ambitious and commercially driven Business Development Manager to accelerate the growth of our Residential Energy Storage Systems (ESS) business. Reporting into the ESS leadership team, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing installer and distribution partnerships, driving sales growth, increasing market awareness and establishing Hisense as a trusted energy storage brand across the UK and Ireland.
This is a highly entrepreneurial role suited to a candidate who enjoys building markets, developing partner networks, influencing commercial strategy and helping launch a rapidly growing energy storage business.
Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales Execution
- Identify, target and onboard high-potential installers, distributors and EPC partners.
- Execute go-to-market strategies and achieve regional sales targets for ESS products.
- Deliver compelling product presentations, proposals and commercial offers.
- Structure and manage installer partner programmes, including incentives, lead distribution and performance tracking.
- Drive revenue growth through strategic account development and partner engagement.
Channel Development & Account Management
- Develop strategic relationships with key national distributors, installer groups and renewable energy partners.
- Create and implement partner accreditation and loyalty programmes.
- Identify opportunities for joint marketing, lead generation and training initiatives.
- Conduct regular business reviews with strategic partners and key accounts.
Market Engagement & Brand Building
- Act as the face of Hisense ESS at trade shows, installer events, customer meetings and technical roadshows.
- Gather and relay market feedback to product, R&D, support and leadership teams.
- Collaborate with marketing to develop campaigns, webinars and educational content.
- Support brand awareness and market penetration activities across the UK and Ireland.

- Work closely with technical support and operations teams to deliver outstanding pre- and post-sales support.
- Assist partners during early installations, commissioning activities and site assessments where required.
- Support customer onboarding and ensure a positive partner experience.
Product Launch & Market Development
- Support new product introductions and market launch activities.
- Provide installer and end-user feedback to influence future product development.
- Conduct competitor analysis and support local product positioning strategies.
Forecasting, CRM & Reporting
- Maintain accurate sales forecasting through company CRM systems.
- Manage opportunity pipelines and provide monthly demand forecasts.
- Provide regular updates on sales performance, competitor activity and market trends.
- Collaborate with leadership on forecasting, pricing strategy and channel development plans.
- Monitor performance against targets and implement corrective actions where required.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in renewable energy, energy storage, solar PV or electrical product sales.
- Demonstrable success in developing installer and distribution networks.
- Strong understanding of residential ESS solutions, inverters and battery technologies.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing sales pipelines and forecasts.
- Experience working with CRM platforms and sales management tools.
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to installers, distributors and end users.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Electrical, engineering or renewable energy background through qualification or practical experience.
- Experience launching new products or building brands within emerging markets.
- Existing network within the UK renewable energy installer ecosystem.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across the UK and Ireland.
Preferred Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of G98, G99 and UK grid connection requirements.
- Knowledge of MCS standards and residential solar and battery installation practices.
- Familiarity with UK and Irish smart tariffs, flexibility services, SEG schemes and VPP opportunities.
- Experience with hybrid inverters, battery storage systems and EV charging products.
- Understanding of UK and Irish energy market trends and regulatory developments.
