Location: Hybrid – Leicester
Salary & Commission: Competitive base + uncapped commission (OTE 2.5x base)
At Consultus International Group, we are proud to be a trusted Net Zero Consultancy, delivering impactful energy and sustainability solutions to clients in the UK and globally. We’re growing and are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to help us continue to support organisations on their journey to lower emissions and improved energy performance.
About The Role
You'll be responsible for proactively identifying, developing, and winning new business opportunities, taking ownership of the full sales cycle from prospecting through to close. This is a role for someone who enjoys opening doors, creating opportunities, and building long-term client relationships in a consultative way. The focus is on selling a broad range of energy and sustainability services to organisations with significant energy spend and complex needs.
This is a predominantly new business role, with responsibility for building and managing a strong pipeline through self-generated activity, supported by marketing, lead generation, and referrals. You’ll also develop selected existing client relationships where appropriate. You’ll work closely with internal teams including marketing and lead generation to ensure a strong flow of qualified opportunities. Success in this role will come from your ability to understand client challenges, engage senior stakeholders, and clearly articulate tailored solutions.
We’re looking for someone who gets a buzz from opening doors and creating opportunities. You'll be comfortable engaging senior decision-makers, uncovering commercial and sustainability challenges, and building trusted relationships that lead to long-term partnerships. You'll be proactive, resilient, and motivated by winning new business, while taking a consultative approach that puts client outcomes first.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
