Business Development Manager Financial Services (Consulting)

Business Development Manager (Financial Services) - Digital Transformation

About the Role

Company Background

  • UK Consulting/Cloud Services/Software Engineering/Data Engineering business
  • Strong partners with Financial Services as a critical strategic partner
  • Digital transformation lead player with rapid growth and proven lead engine
  • Hybrid remote (London, 3 days a week in office)

This isn’t bodyshopping—it’s strategic, 5-year IT strategy alignment with clients’ CIOs and CTOs to drive transformational outcomes.


Key Objectives

Drive net new and existing opportunity sales into Financial Services with a focus on:

  • Cloud migration
  • DevOps and cloud-native build
  • Software development & consulting
  • Digital transformation solutions

Deal values typically range between £500k – £2M.


Responsibilities

Sales & Business Growth

  • Sell enterprise-level IT solutions (Cloud, Software, DevOps, etc.) to Government and Tier 1 Financial institutions
  • Identify and exploit high-value opportunities across cloud-native architectures and business transformation
  • Build relationships at senior executive (CTO/ CIO) level to become a trusted advisor for IT strategy

Collaboration & Account Development

  • Work closely with senior project teams to refine pitches, scope value propositions, and close deals
  • Develop long-term partnerships in financial services, ensuring continuity and recurring business

  • Drive fast growth by leveraging the company’s strong consulting talent bench and proven industry expertise

Requirements

Essential

  • Strong record closing net-new & existing deals in Financial Services (FS)
  • Deep expertise in one or more of these areas:
    • Vendor/Managed Services
    • IT Consulting Sales
    • Data Engineering
    • Cloud Solutions (migration, devops, native architectures)
    • Application Development
    • Enterprise software licencing

Desired Characteristics

  • Native confident advisor—dealt directly at C-level, trusted for subject-matter expertise
  • Can align IT strategy to business outcomes and articulate complex technical concepts to executives
  • Resilience for commercial discussions, ability to handle multiple multi-million-pound deals at once

Compensation

| Package | Network effect financial services deal size

  • Base salary: up to £120k
  • OTE (double): uncapped (linked to deal success)
