Location: North and Midlands

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Competitive basic salary + uncapped commission + car allowance/company vehicle

Join Our Growing Fire & Security Team

We are seeking an ambitious and experienced Business Development Manager to drive new business growth across our Fire & Security division.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated sales professional with industry experience to join a well-established company delivering high-quality fire and security solutions to commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, and public sector clients.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing long-term customer relationships, and securing new contracts for fire alarm systems, intruder alarms, CCTV, access control, and integrated security solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and secure new business opportunities across the Fire & Security sector.
  • Develop and manage a strong sales pipeline from prospecting through to contract award.
  • Build relationships with end users, consultants, contractors, facilities managers, and key decision-makers.
  • Conduct site surveys and customer meetings to understand client requirements.
  • Prepare quotations, proposals, and tender responses.
  • Deliver professional presentations and solution-based sales proposals.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and successfully close sales.
  • Work closely with estimating, operations, and engineering teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts and CRM records.
  • Attend networking events, trade exhibitions, and client meetings.
  • Achieve and exceed agreed sales targets and KPIs.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ proven business development or technical sales experience within the Fire & Security industry.
  • Strong knowledge of one or more of the following:
    • Fire Alarm Systems
    • CCTV
    • Access Control
    • Intruder Alarms
    • Integrated Security Systems
  • Demonstrable track record of winning new business and achieving sales targets.
  • Experience selling into commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, or public sector organisations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build long-term client relationships.
  • Experience using CRM systems to manage opportunities and sales activity.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • FIA, BSIA, or relevant industry qualifications.
  • Knowledge of BS 5839, NSI, BAFE, SSAIB, or other industry standards.
  • Experience working with M&E contractors, consultants, and main contractors.
  • Existing network of contacts within the Fire & Security industry.
  • Experience with framework agreements and tender submissions.
