Field-Based Sales Manager (South)

Field-Based (Southern UK) | HQ: Preston, Lancashire

Full-Time | Circa £42k + Bonus + Company Car

Merlin Diesel Systems Ltd is an industry leader with over 70 years of expertise in providing diesel fuel injection solutions and is looking for a Field-based Sales Manager (South) to help drive growth across all automotive market sectors in the South of the UK. Our mission is to deliver quality products and couple this with excellent technical support in order to build strong ties with our customers where they feel satisfied and valued.

You'll be representing an internationally recognised brand, partnering with top names like Bosch, Delphi, Denso, Perkins, Stanadyne, Schaeffler and Continental. From our HQ in Preston, we supply over 100 countries worldwide and continue to invest in new products and technologies. We offer an extensive stock range of diesel fuel pumps and injectors and build, market and sell a wide range of diesel fuel injection system test equipment.

Experience of field-based sales is essential as the role will necessitate the post holder to drive between clients and appointments on a daily basis.

Candidates based north of Oxford will not be considered for this role due to the need to travel in the South of the UK.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships across the South of England
  • Promote and sell our extensive product range to new and existing customers
  • Create and present tailored proposals and quotations
  • Use CRM tools to plan and manage your pipeline
  • Work collaboratively across departments to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Provide regular sales updates and forecasts

What We’re Looking For:

  • A proven track record in sales is essential - automotive or engineering sector experience with diesel fuel injection knowledge is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience of the automotive parts industry in a field-based sales role.
  • Self-motivated, trustworthy, and target-driven
  • Confident communicator who excels in face-to-face meetings
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently
  • Full UK driving licence
