Content Acquisition Professional – UK & Ireland
We are looking for a thoughtful, motivated professional to join our Content Acquisition team. This role will partner closely with archives, historical institutions, genealogy communities, and cross-functional stakeholders to identify, acquire, and bring valuable historical records to Ancestry members across the United Kingdom and Ireland. The ideal candidate must be:
- Adaptable
- Collaborative
- Commercially minded
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- Capable of building strong external relationships
- Proficient at managing complex projects
Your Responsibilities
Develop and manage relationships with:

Archives

Government entities
-
Historical institutions
-
Genealogy organisations
-
Identify, evaluate, and negotiate opportunities for:
- Historical content acquisition
- Licensing agreements

Lead content acquisition projects across:
- Discovery
- Digitisation
- Publication
- Launch

Who You Are
Experience & Expertise
- 5+ years in any of the following:
- Business development
- Partnerships
- Content acquisition
- Licensing (or related fields)
Key Skills
- Strong in:
- Relationship-building
- Negotiation
- Project management
- Analytical thinking
Desirable Experience
- Previous work with:
- Archives
- Government agencies
- Cultural institutions
