Business Development Manager – Security Services
Salary: £55,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday
Typical Hours: 09:00–17:00, or as required to meet the demands of the role.
Contract Type: Full Time

About The Role
We are seeking an ambitious and results-driven Business Development Manager to drive profitable growth and secure new security guarding contracts across key market sectors.
This role is focused on identifying and converting new business opportunities, developing strategic client relationships, and delivering commercially competitive security solutions. Working closely with Operations, Bids, Mobilisation and Compliance teams, you will manage the full sales lifecycle from prospecting through to contract award.
Success in this role will be measured through revenue growth, contract wins, pipeline development, and the creation of profitable long-term customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development
- Generate and secure new business opportunities within the security guarding sector
- Build, develop and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified sales opportunities
- Win new contracts through competitive tenders, frameworks and direct sales activity
- Generate qualified opportunities through networking, referrals, digital selling, and proactive prospecting
- Identify opportunities to grow existing customer accounts

Client Relationship Management
- Build trusted relationships with key decision-makers across commercial, public sector and FM organisations
- Develop long-term customer relationships that drive sustainable growth
- Act as a professional ambassador for the business and its values
- Deliver presentations, proposals and client pitches to senior stakeholders
Commercial & Strategic Sales
- Develop tailored and commercially competitive security solutions
- Lead opportunities through the full sales lifecycle from prospecting to contract award
- Negotiate commercial terms to maximise revenue, margin and long-term account value
- Monitor market trends, procurement opportunities and competitor activity
- Maintain a strong focus on profitability, operational delivery and commercial risk
Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with Operations, Bids, Mobilisation and Compliance teams
- Support successful contract mobilisation and implementation
- Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline reports and sales forecasts
- Ensure all business development activities comply with company and industry requirements
Experience
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' proven experience in a Business Development or Sales role within a service-led organisation
- Ideally experienced within the security services industry
- Demonstrable track record of winning new business and delivering revenue growth
- Experience selling into commercial, public sector, facilities management, manufacturing or logistics sectors
- Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales processes
- Proven success in achieving and exceeding sales targets
Licences
- Full UK Driving Licence
- SIA Front-Line or Non-Front-Line Licence (essential)

Knowledge & Technical Skills
- Good understanding of the UK security guarding industry
- Knowledge of SIA, ACS, BS7499 and wider industry compliance standards
- Understanding of TUPE, mobilisation and operational delivery processes
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Experience using CRM platforms such as HubSpot
- Ability to quickly learn internal systems and processes
