Our client is a rapidly growing provider of laboratory equipment and consumables who sell their products into a wide range of customers across the Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical and Industrial markets. Priding themselves on a top-class customer service and high quality industry leading products, they are now looking for a Business Development Manager to join the team.
Responsibilities
- Looking after existing customers, growing the accounts and nurturing business for the company
- Seeking out new business opportunities
- Meeting with customers across the UK to explore new ventures and ensure service levels are upkept
- Accurate record keeping and data logging using company CRM
- Provide business proposals, quotations, and pricing for products, as required
- Reporting sales figures to senior leadership team
- Keep up to date with industry and product knowledge

Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in scientific subject, ideally biology, microbiology, cellular biology, biomedical science or chemistry
- Hold a Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK
- Have 5+ years sales experience, within the scientific industry selling laboratory equipment and consumables
- Expertise in filter membranes, syringe filters and filter papers
- Have experience of developing and completing sales strategies
- Have the ability to communicate effectively
- Possess technical knowledge of laboratory products, equipment and consumables
- Be able to present to a variety of audiences and influence decision makers
- Be motivated, hardworking and ambitious
- Be highly organised and able to manage workload
- Ideally have a background in chemistry or related scientific area
