Business Development Manager
We are seeking a Business Development Manager to play a key role in driving the company’s commercial growth by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities across target markets.
Responsibilities
- Generating revenue through the promotion of the organisation’s managed IT support, P3M, technical services, cyber security, and network management solutions
- Ensuring services are aligned to customer needs and strategic objectives
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with prospective and existing customers, acting as a trusted advisor and understanding client challenges, operational requirements, and compliance obligations
- Working collaboratively with existing bid management, operational, and leadership teams to develop tailored proposals and solutions that demonstrate value, service quality, and customised outcomes
- Conducting market analysis, pipeline management, lead generation, bid support, and representing the company at networking events, industry forums, and customer meetings
- Maintaining a strong focus on customer engagement, commercial awareness, and achievement of sales targets
- Keeping a clear understanding of emerging technologies, trends, and relevant industry standards and compliance regulations
Desirable Skills and Competencies
- Broad understanding of managed IT services, P3M, cloud technologies, networking, and cyber security principles
- Experience of supporting tender responses, bids, or framework submissions, relevant to agreed target sectors
- Awareness of relevant security and compliance standards
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Ability to analyse market trends and identify new business opportunities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to develop persuasive proposals, presentations, and customer-facing documentation
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously

Essential Experience
- Confident and resilient sales development individual with proven experience (typically 5 – 10 years’ experience) in a business development and sales role within the IT managed and professional services, with a comprehensive portfolio including ITSM, P3M, architecture, assurance, and/or cyber security sector
- Demonstrable track record of achieving or exceeding sales and revenue targets
- Experience of generating new business opportunities through proactive sales activity, networking, and relationship development
- Experience of managing the full sales lifecycle, from lead generation through to proposal, negotiation, and contract award
- Experience of developing customer-focused solutions and commercial proposals in collaboration with technical teams
- Experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and business partners
- Experience of presenting solutions and proposals to customers at varying levels of seniority, and handling and managing objections
- Experience using CRM systems to manage pipelines, opportunities, forecasting, and customer engagement activity
- Experience of working within a target-driven commercial environment
- Hold or be able to hold relevant Security Clearances
