Business Development Manager - Kiwa Agri-Food
Job Summary
Kiwa Agri Food are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive profitable new business growth by identifying, shaping, and converting opportunities. We are looking for someone that can successfully translate customer needs into commercially viable solutions. This is a remote role, with regular travel to the Harrogate office and across the UK.
About The Role
Develop and execute a targeted territory plan, identifying and prioritising key accounts Generate new business through proactive, multi-channel outreach and relationship building Lead discovery conversations to understand customer needs, risks and decision processes Qualify opportunities and maintain a strong, focused pipeline aligned to targets Translate customer requirements into tailored solutions, working closely with technical teams Deliver compelling proposals with clear value messaging and commercial alignment Lead negotiations, manage stakeholders and close deals in line with revenue and margin goals Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth delivery and a structured post-sale handover Maintain accurate CRM records and provide reliable forecasting Share market insight and performance feedback to support continuous improvement and inform wider teams
Do you have what it takes?
Existing experience and strong knowledge of GFSI-benchmarked schemes (e.g., BRCGS, FSSC22000, IFS), Farm/Feed Certification schemes along with 2nd Party Retail Supplier Audit Programmes, including practical knowledge of ISO22000, UFAS, FEMAS, GlobalG.A.P., and HACCP/TACCP. Proven sales experience within the food, farm and agriculture industry Experience applying pricing strategies and managing margins to deliver commercially viable deals Understanding of contracts including risk, liability and scope clarity Awareness of regulatory frameworks and compliance drivers UK agricultural, farm, feed, and food manufacturing industries Ability to connect services to regulatory and customer outcomes Strong knowledge of testing, inspection, certification and consultancy services Able to combine multiple services into tailored, value-led solutions Proactive and driven, with a consistent focus on building and maintaining a strong pipeline Commercially minded, balancing revenue growth with margin protection Structured and organised, with a process-driven approach to sales Resilient and self-motivated, able to maintain momentum in the face of challenges Curious and customer-focused, with the ability to deeply understand client needs
