Business Development Manager (Managed Services)

Senior Business Development Executive – Managed IT Services & Cloud

Location: Dorchester or Basingstoke office (2x weekly) Type: Permanent Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 + Double OTE

Our client is an established Managed Services Provider with over 18 years’ experience delivering secure, reliable, and innovative IT solutions to organisations across the South and throughout the UK.

Supporting customers typically between 50–500 users, they specialise in helping organisations modernise, secure, and simplify their IT environments through a comprehensive portfolio of managed and cloud services.

Their solutions include:

  • Managed IT Services
  • Cyber Security
  • Backup, Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (BC/DRaaS)
  • Cloud & Private Hosting
  • Connectivity, Networking & WiFi
  • VoIP & Unified Communications

Following continued growth, they are investing in their sales function and are looking for an experienced new business professional to help drive the next phase of expansion.

The Role

This is a genuine new business hunting role, focused on winning new customers and building long-term recurring revenue across a growing Managed Services and XaaS (Everything as a Service) portfolio.

You’ll:

  • Target organisations with approximately 50–500 users
  • Identify commercial and technical challenges
  • Work closely with technical pre-sales consultants to deliver tailored solutions that create long-term customer value

This is a consultative sales role where success comes from building trusted relationships rather than simply selling products.

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development

  • Identify and win new customers across the South and wider UK
    • Generate and manage a healthy pipeline through:
      • Outbound prospecting
      • Networking
      • Partner engagement
    • Lead consultative discovery meetings with:
      • Business stakeholders
      • Technical stakeholders
    • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through to close
    • Consistently achieve and exceed new business revenue targets

Solution Selling

Develop opportunities across:

  • Managed IT Services
  • Microsoft 365 Solutions
  • Backup & Disaster Recovery (BC/DRaaS)
  • Cyber Security
  • Private & Hybrid Cloud
  • Networking & Connectivity
  • VoIP & Unified Communications

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience with IT, Managed Services, or Technology Sales
  • Proven track record of:
    • Winning new business
    • Generating recurring revenue
  • Experience selling into organisations with:
    • Approximately 50–500 users
  • Good understanding of:
    • Microsoft 365
    • VMware/Hyper-V environments
  • Exposure to:
    • Managed Services
    • Cloud
    • Cyber Security
    • Backup
    • Networking solutions
  • Experience working with vendors such as:
    • Microsoft
    • Dell
    • VMware would be advantageous
