Overview

We are seeking a Business Development Manager responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities within assigned law enforcement, government, and public sector accounts across the UK. The role is a quota-carrying individual contributor position operating within the broader UK go-to-market strategy led by the regional Vice President, Account Management. This role requires strong experience navigating government procurement processes, building trusted stakeholder relationships, and managing complex, high-value B2G sales cycles in diverse international markets. Reporting to the regional Vice President, Account Management, this role partners closely with sales leadership and cross-functional teams to execute the UK growth strategy and achieve individual bookings targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within assigned accounts, territories, and market segments across the UK.
  • Carry an individual quota and consistently achieve quarterly and annual bookings targets through effective pipeline generation, opportunity management, and forecast accuracy.
  • Partner with the regional Vice President, Account Management and broader sales organization on account planning, territory strategy, and key opportunity execution within the UK market.
  • Develop and maintain deep knowledge of government procurement policies, tendering processes, and compliance requirements across the region
  • Lead customer engagement throughout the full sales lifecycle, from early discovery through contract award
  • Represent SS8 at industry events, trade shows, and government meetings in a professional, respectful, and inclusive manner
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams—including product, marketing, legal, and operations—to tailor solutions to customer and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality proposals, presentations, and RFI/RFP responses
  • Establish and maintain long-term strategic relationships with key law enforcement and government stakeholders, partners, consultants, and system integrators
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and competitive activity to inform regional go-to-market strategies

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
