Business Development Manager – Modular Support Systems

Business Development Manager – Modular Support Systems

About Atkore

Atkore is forging a future where our brands, suppliers, employees, customers, partners, and communities are building better together—a future focused on empowering our customers while we power and protect the world.

Atkore is a leading manufacturer and distributor of electrical, mechanical, and safety infrastructure solutions. With approximately 3,900 employees and 65 manufacturing and distribution facilities worldwide, we specialise in:

  • Electrical conduit
  • Cable management systems
  • Armoured cable
  • Metal framing
  • Security products and solutions

About This Role

We are looking for a self-motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team and drive growth in our Modular Support Systems range across Mechanical, HVAC, Pharma, and Nuclear sectors.

As the Business Development Manager – Modular Support Systems, you will:

  • Build and secure a strong project pipeline through engagement with offsite manufacturers and key project stakeholders.
  • Convert opportunities into profitable orders via consultative, solutions-led selling and disciplined CRM management.

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development

  • Identify, approach and secure new customers and new project opportunities within target sectors.
  • Create and maintain a targeted list of high-priority prospects and projects, ensuring clear next steps and regular follow-ups.
  • Qualify opportunities rigorously (scope, technical requirements, decision-makers, timelines, and value propositions).
  • Drive opportunities through the funnel to conversion and order placement.
  • Maintain a forecastable pipeline in Salesforce/CRM, ensuring accuracy in stages, values, close plans, and timelines.

Offsite Manufacturer Growth Channel

  • Develop strong relationships with offsite manufacturers and packaged plant builders to secure repeatable supply chains.
  • Standardise configurations by agreeing on typical product kits, preferred selections, and supply agreements with key partners.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline product selection, documentation, and order accuracy for offsite partners.

Project & Specification Pull-Through

  • Engage early with consultants, designers, and project engineers to influence design-in and specification decisions.
  • Ensure visibility of opportunities through all project stages—concept, procurement, and installation.
  • Record and manage key project intelligence, including competitor positioning, decision criteria, risks, and actions needed for success.

Technical & Value-Led Selling

  • Carry out structured application discovery to understand loads, environments, access constraints, compliance, and installation needs.
  • Present technical solutions using demonstrations, proposals, and value-based messaging (e.g., build speed, reduced components, installation efficiency).
  • Coordinate technical support (BIM/CAD designs, submittals, and aftersales guidance) to remove barriers and accelerate decisions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
