Business Development Manager – Public Sector (Scotland)
About the Role
Are you an experienced sales and business development professional looking to drive profitable growth, gain market share, and create future pipeline opportunities within a specific segment or product specialism?
We are seeking professional, ambitious, and motivated sales professionals to build existing customer partnerships and forge new business opportunities within the Public Sector.
This role is based in the Scotland Region, tasked with driving new business into our branches and fostering long-term, value-driven partnerships across the Public Sector.

As a Business Development Manager at Rexel UK, you will:
- Drive profitable growth, gain market share, and generate future pipeline opportunities in a specific product segment or geography.
- Collaborate with branch teams to create exceptional customer relationships and long-term partnerships.
- Serve as a strategic partner in sales, innovation, and profitability across the Public Sector.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Roadmap Use data-driven insights and tools to build a market expansion plan, identifying growth opportunities through new offerings, markets, or revenue streams.

Pipeline Management Build and maintain a high-quality pipeline of customer partnerships for long-term success.

Customer Partnerships Develop tailored, high-value relationships with key customer brands to secure future growth potential.

Value Proposition Development Create innovative solutions using preferred suppliers to enhance profitability and customer satisfaction.

Pricing & Profitability Govern regional pricing, margins, and contract profitability to ensure business optimisation.

Market Agility Adapt strategies dynamically to market and segment changes, ensuring long-term sustainable growth.

Multichannel Growth Promote multichannel solutions to enhance customer propositions.

Customer Experience Ensure exceptional service and OTIF (On-Time In Full) by collaborating with internal teams to drive successful implementations.

Team Development Upskill internal teams, clearly define account ownership, and conduct regular reviews to meet performance targets.

- Deep knowledge of modern sales processes and techniques.
