The Role: Business Development Manager
NVD’s UK sales team is seeking a driven Business Development Manager, responsible for acquiring and growing key fleet accounts. Your portfolio will include:
- National rental operators
- Fleet leasing companies
- Fleet brokers
- Conversion partners
Core Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and win business across your target sectors.
- Manage and expand existing accounts, with an initial emphasis on rental sector relationships.
- Cross-sell services from both NVD Core (logistics and vehicle compound/PDI) and NVD Convertor (bespoke LCV conversion), delivering a complete end-to-end solution tailored to customer needs.
- As the business scales, you may also support additional customer verticals or take on new accounts.
What You Will Be Doing
Hunting & Growth
- Actively find new opportunities within national rental operators, leasing companies, fleet brokers, and conversion partners.
Account Management
- Develop and retain existing fleet accounts, focusing initially on rental sector clients.
Cross-Selling
- Research customer accounts to identify opportunities for additional services:
- Logistics support, vehicle preparation, and storage.
- Vehicle conversion solutions.

Solution Selling
- Collaborate directly with fleet procurement teams, leasing account managers, and brokers to design a custom package tailored to their logistics and vehicle preparation needs.
Teamwork
- Partner with transport, compound, and Convertor teams to ensure flawless service delivery and adherence to client expectations.
Flexibility
- Provide additional support across other customer segments as required.
- Take on new accounts and verticals in line with team growth.
What We’re Looking For
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years in B2B sales, ideally within:
- Fleet & leasing sectors
- Rental or automotive industries
- Vehicle logistics and supply chain
- Roles where procurement-driven customer relationships are critical.
Track Record
- A proven ability to:
- Manage complex sales cycles
- Secure commercial contracts
- Grow accounts over time.
Industry Understanding
- Strong knowledge of:
- The UK automotive and fleet industry
- Key supply chain processes and stages
- The needs of fleet operators, lessors, brokers, and conversion specialists
Technical Knowledge
- Familiarity with LCV conversion, upfitting, or vehicle preparation is advantageous (full training provided if needed).
Communication & Negotiation Skills
- Ability to build rapport at all organisational levels, from procurement to senior directors.
- Strong relationship-building and negotiating skills.
Licensing
- A full, valid UK driving licence is mandatory (due to travel requirements).
