The Business Development Manager for Retail

  • Cultivating and maintaining strong business relationships with retail customers
  • Identifying growth opportunities within their lighting categories
  • Working collaboratively with our Product and Marketing teams to effectively engage with retail customers to support marketing campaigns and new product development

About Us

Integral LED is dedicated to delivering high-quality lighting products that are trusted by numerous customers worldwide. With a broad range of lighting products, we work with wholesalers, retailers, e-tailers, education and health systems, local governments, and developers to provide innovative solutions for commercial, industrial, retail, hospitality, and residential applications.

Main Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and nurture relationships with both new and existing retail customers including key decision makers
  • Own and execute strategic account plans aligned with business objectives
  • Identify growth opportunities and lead commercial negotiations
  • Develop and execute account plans, promotional plans, and growth strategies for existing and new retail partners
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, whilst building and maintaining strong customer relationships
  • Negotiate contracts and proactively engage with customers
  • With a category management approach, present and benchmark product against competition and deliver compelling sales pitches
  • Analyse sales data and market trends to inform decision making and maximise results
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams to drive successful campaigns and product launches

Required Skills

  • At least 3 years of business development or account management experience selling physical product to retailers in the Grocer or DIY channels, ideally with an understanding of the lighting and electrical product categories
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build and manage relationships at a senior level
  • A driven sales professional with the desire to develop accounts and win new business
  • Proven ability to sell and negotiate with experienced buyers and category managers
  • Experienced in managing an account plan and P&L
  • Experience managing tenders, product launches, and range planning
  • Confident presenter with excellent communication skills
  • Strong understanding of supply chain processes and commercial lifecycle
  • Strategic thinker with a focused, priority-driven approach
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills, with an understanding of CRM
