Business Development Manager – Sage Ecosystem

Location: Remote / Hybrid (UK) Salary: Competitive + Commission + Benefits


The Opportunity

Our client, a well-established ERP consultancy and Sage Business Partner, is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth in their Sage Intacct and Sage 200 practices.

This is an exciting role for a commercially driven ERP sales professional with a proven track record of:

  • Winning new business
  • Developing strategic partnerships
  • Closing high-value software opportunities

The Business Development Manager will collaborate with pre-sales, consultancy, and marketing teams to expand the company’s Sage customer base and drive long-term revenue growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drive new business sales across Sage Intacct, Sage 200, and complementary third-party software solutions.
  • Generate opportunities through:
    • Networking
    • Outbound activities
    • Referrals
    • Marketing campaigns
    • Partner relationships
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting to contract negotiation and closure.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, including:
    • Finance Directors
    • CFOs
    • Managing Directors
  • Understand customer challenges and position Sage ERP solutions as the ideal solution.
  • Work with pre-sales consultants to deliver software demos and solution presentations.
  • Develop strategic account plans to maximise upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline management, and revenue forecasting.
  • Collaborate with Sage channel teams and partners to uncover new opportunities.
  • Represent the company at:
    • Industry events
    • Customer meetings
    • Networking functions

Requirements

Must-Have

  • Proven experience selling Sage Software or comparable ERP solutions.
  • Previous success in a Business Development, ERP Sales, or Account Management role.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS, ERP, and business software sales.
  • Experience managing complex B2B sales cycles.
  • Excellent commercial awareness, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong CRM, pipeline management, and forecasting skills.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable to remote or hybrid work.

Bonus (Desirable)

  • Experience with an ERP consultancy or Sage Business Partner.
  • Knowledge of financial systems and accounting software.
  • Experience selling to industries such as:
    • Manufacturing
    • Distribution
    • Professional services
    • Financial services
    • Multi-entity organisations
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Halo CRM).
